This double storey house emphasizes the Swahili scheme as the main concept. The central open to sky courtyard forms the heart of the spaces woven around this courtyard. The public areas are on the ground floor and the private spaces are on the first floor of the house.
The house several terraces on the upper level maintaining the Swahili theme. in addition the external façade has elements which accentuates the Swahili theme.
The allowance of natural light has been wisely complemented by adding pergolas in the terraces which brings out a symphony of lights and shadows that grant the design a calm and dynamic personality which is always strongly expressive.

Combining the terraces with timber pergola and railings helps in achieving a conformable ambience. Considering the kind of style of the house the roof tops of the various rooms are used as terraces which allows for more generous and immediate contact with the sky and the surrounding environment becoming a gathering space within a private ambiance.
