RETREAT VILLAS
The brief was to create a warm, comfortable and welcoming home referencing and emphasizing plantation style interiors as well as adding more contemporary elements to the scheme. All the existing spaces were carefully refurbished to visually connect to different levels within the older part of the house. New bathrooms feature bespoke finishes that contribute to the refined, contemporary feel of these renovated spaces. We have emphasized on minimizing new extensions to the existing villa and instead placed focus on opening up the key areas which assisted in achieving a feeling of spaciousness in a cost-effective way.
Materials also help to create a feeling of warmth. Timber flooring runs throughout the interior, while the marble on the fireplace and columns and the grey walls with white panels marks the tradition between the living spaces and the bedrooms.
By subtle changes to the spaces and by adding texture, color and interesting material choices we were able to create a warm, comfortable and welcoming family home. We have achieved a harmonious and calm aesthetic through with modern touches and timeless design. Our approach to the interior design was integral to the overall experience of the living spaces. The juxtaposition of the light grey walls and white timber paneling enhances natural light into the spaces, while also creating zoning and directionality throughout the spaces.
