Team 2 Architects are privileged to design and execute yet another branch of the prestigious healthcare providers, Columbia Africa Ltd. This facility located in Lavington area of Nairobi comprises of 2 floors of healthcare facilities. The ground floor comprises of reception lobby, café, meeting room, kids play
area, pharmacy and OPD rooms.
The double height reception maximizes the amount of light allowed into the interior. The stairs to the first floor lead to Other facilities like the Lab, Dental room, Mammography, CT scan room, X-ray room, Endoscopy with a procedure room and Ultrasound room. A characteristic element of the serene interior is the cut outs in the ceilings which breaks the monotony of plain ceilings and enhance the output of light on the wall on columns. The consultation rooms are equipped with all necessary medical devices and apparatus which are mostly concealed in built-in storage areas in order to create more relaxed, “non-medical” atmosphere and reduce patient stress in the process.
Aiming to create a serene setting for the patients the interiors has been a neutral palette of blue, white and grey colors with glass emphasizing certain areas.
