Villa Mayflower

This double storey L-shaped modern house with elements of Swahili architecture forms a significant structure amidst surrounding houses.

The house is well lit, with roof lights in the stairs with French doors and high level ventilators to allow in natural light in almost all the rooms. The blend of of various materials like natural stone ,color and stainless steel, aluminium and timber enhances the modern look. The slanting walls break the monotony of the horizontal massing. The projecting bay windows and the corner windows enhances the façade further.

The staircase has been designed to enhance  the Swahili features. The vertical slit openings to the staircase creates a curious flight. The staircase has abundant light through the skylight above area to make its function easier especially when it does not have direct light from the windows.

The spacious bedrooms overlook the pool and the gym area. Nairobi blue stone successfully brings out a tropical modern attempt in the aesthetics. blends well with the surrounding vegetation.
