The interiors for this bar has been redesigned using veritable symphonies of timber. Retaining the existing tree has added in the conservation element to the elegant yet casual haven. The interior is designed to enhance the Swahili look of the existing hotel yet bring out the modern interior elements. Following the constraints of the existing space and hotel is use full time, the design team has managed to bring about a new bar area yet in context with the existing hotel design. The exposed timber ceiling with glass roof over enhances the play of natural light within the space. Though the main goal of this project was to transport visitors to a traditional yet modern environment for a moment of respite and escape, it was also a space for design experimentation. From a cosy, dimly lit nooks to a elegant modern space with the Swahili style ambiance this bar is more than the spirits on offer.
